What does "Bring Your Own Key" mean?+
You connect your own OpenAI or Anthropic account — or run models locally with Ollama. Tayfa is the window; the AI provider is your choice. You pay the provider directly for usage. No Tayfa account, no Tayfa billing, no middleman.
How is Tayfa different from ChatGPT?+
ChatGPT is a full web app with its own account. Tayfa is a small desktop companion built for flow: one hotkey to summon, a roster of specialists instead of one generic chatbot, tabbed threads, TR–EN translation built in, local Whisper dictation, and precise context control — while your keys and data stay on your terms.
Is my data private?+
Trust is architecture, not a settings toggle. Tayfa requires no account, collects no telemetry, and stores conversations locally on your device. API keys go to your OS keychain. With Ollama and local Whisper, your words never leave your machine.

Tayfa runs on Windows, macOS (11.0+), and Linux (.deb, .AppImage, .rpm). It is built with Tauri — lightweight, fast, and native-feeling. macOS builds are available for Apple Silicon and Intel.
